MTI Awards Seed Grant to Tide Creative
Tide Creative launches new mobile app technology with seed grant funding from Maine Technology Institute
PORTLAND, Maine, March 6th, 2013 –Tide Creative (http://tidecreative.com/) , a tech development company based in Portland, ME, was awarded a seed grant from the Maine Technology Institute (http://www.mainetechnology.org/) to develop the iSpyLove mobile platform. The tool is a fully functioning photo and capture application with interactive online display and e-commerce platform.
With the grant, to be matched by Tide Creative funds, the development company will design and launch iSPYLove. The free app allows couples to download and curate images at their wedding celebration. The platform will pull all images and notes from users of the application into a website that will allow the couples and guests to organize content and tag favorites. The platform will also enable users to purchase products from those images.
Each year there are 2.2 million weddings in the US, and 83% of US marriages are of millennial aged people. The time spent in photo/video related mobile apps more than tripled among this demographic from July 2011 to August 2012 to 231 minutes per month.
